Today, the newly-established SoloPower Systems Inc. (“SoloPower”) with manufacturing operations in Portland, Oregon, announced the first major step in its strategy to build on its unique technology platform by partnering with different entities across the globe to establish distributed manufacturing operations aimed at better serving local markets. The first of these arrangements will be with CTI Co, a green growth company, based in South Korea (www.ctigrp.com, and www.solopowerkorea.com), which provides access to exceptional technical and manufacturing capabilities and strong demand for flexible and lightweight CIGS PV cells and module products. As is amply demonstrated by customer interest, Solopower proprietary lightweight, flexible solar cells and modules serve unique and previously underserved markets—from commercial and industrial rooftops where traditional solar panels cannot be installed due to their weight and rigidity, to emerging large off grid, automotive and consumer applications.
As SoloPower Systems’ President, Rob Campbell, stated: “We are looking forward to expanding our manufacturing operations, developing new products, and serving new markets with our Korean colleagues, as part of an exciting strategy to establish distributed manufacturing operations across the globe.”
CTI Co. CEO, Daniel Song stated “We are very excited to be working with SoloPower Systems and its unique flexible CIGS PV technology. We have a clear vision of bringing leading green technology to Korea and look forward to our continued collaboration and success.”
