Job Title: Module Process Development Engineer
Location: Portland, OR
Descriptions of Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage the Lamination process for flexible thin film modules from, product specification, material selection , process and, validation testing
- Optimize Lamination process for cost reduction while increasing throughput and yield
- Optimize J-Box attach for cost reduction while increasing throughput and yield
- Keep in-depth understanding of flexible thin film module, market issues, and evaluate competitive dynamics of various resource options
- Process engineering & equipment support for a high-volume manufacturing line
- Develop and maintain manufacturing process instructions and documentation
- Ensure compliance with documentation in conjunction with Quality and Yield engineering
- Continuous improvement of process stability and capability
- Assist in transfer of processes to high-volume manufacturing
- Mentoring and overseeing production personnel across all shifts
Education & Experience:
- B.S. degree in Material Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar. Advanced degree is preferred
Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge and experience with Lamination is a plus
- Minimum 2 years in a technically related role, preferably in PV or related industry
- Minimum of 2 years in a product / project management role is a plus
- Flexible module characterization using IV, EL, IR, DHT, TC experience is a plus
- Strong problem solving abilities with attention to detail and a hands-on approach
- Statistical data analysis, design of experiments (DOE) principles
- Statistical process control (SPC)
- Effective communication skills
- Experience related to CIGS is a plus
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to work on your feet for the entire shift
- Must be capable of lifting 25lbs repeatedly through the day
Training Requirements:
- General Workplace Safety, plus chemical hazard safety training
- Clean Room Protocol Awareness
- SoloPower training and other professional training as required
