Module Process Development Engineer

Job Title: Module Process Development Engineer

Location: Portland, OR

Descriptions of Duties & Responsibilities:

Manage the Lamination process for flexible thin film modules from, product specification, material selection , process and, validation testing
Optimize Lamination process for cost reduction while increasing throughput and yield
Optimize J-Box attach for cost reduction while increasing throughput and yield
Keep in-depth understanding of flexible thin film module, market issues, and evaluate competitive dynamics of various resource options
Process engineering & equipment support for a high-volume manufacturing line
Develop and maintain manufacturing process instructions and documentation
Ensure compliance with documentation in conjunction with Quality and Yield engineering
Continuous improvement of process stability and capability
Assist in transfer of processes to high-volume manufacturing
Mentoring and overseeing production personnel across all shifts

Education & Experience:

B.S. degree in Material Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar. Advanced degree is preferred

Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Extensive knowledge and experience with Lamination is a plus
Minimum 2 years in a technically related role, preferably in PV or related industry
Minimum of 2 years in a product / project management role is a plus
Flexible module characterization using IV, EL, IR, DHT, TC experience is a plus
Strong problem solving abilities with attention to detail and a hands-on approach
Statistical data analysis, design of experiments (DOE) principles
Statistical process control (SPC)
Effective communication skills
Experience related to CIGS is a plus
