Descriptions of Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Process engineering support for a high-volume manufacturing line
  • Process and related equipment troubleshooting
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing process instructions and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with documentation in conjunction with Quality and Yield engineering
  • Continuous improvement of process stability and capability
  • Initiate and ensure compliance with engineering change control notices
  • Assist in transfer of processes to high-volume manufacturing
  • Mentoring and overseeing production personnel across all shifts

Education & Experience :

  • B.S. degree or a minimum of 5 years experience as a Thermal Process Engineer

Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of thermal process technology
  • Strong problem solving abilities with attention to detail and a hands-on approach
  • Statistical data analysis, design of experiments (DOE) principles
  • Statistical process control (SPC)
  • Effective communication skills
  • Familiar with roll to roll deposition systems is a plus
  • Experience related to CIGS is a plus

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to work on your feet for the entire shift
  • Must be capable of lifting 25lbs repeatedly through the day

Training Requirements:

  • General Workplace Safety, plus chemical hazard safety training
  • Clean Room Protocol Awareness

Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of maintaining high vacuum sputtering equipment
  • Computer skills for documenting work and ordering parts

  • Optimize Lamination process for cost reduction while increasing throughput and yield
  • Optimize J-Box attach for cost reduction while increasing throughput and yield
  • Keep in-depth understanding of flexible thin film module, market issues, and evaluate competitive dynamics of various resource options
  • Process engineering & equipment support for a high-volume manufacturing line
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing process instructions and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with documentation in conjunction with Quality and Yield engineering
  • Continuous improvement of process stability and capability
  • Assist in transfer of processes to high-volume manufacturing
  • Mentoring and overseeing production personnel across all shifts

Education & Experience:

  • B.S. degree in Material Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar.  Advanced degree is preferred

Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge and  experience with Lamination is a plus
  • Minimum 2 years in a technically related role, preferably in PV or related industry
  • Minimum of 2 years in a product / project management role is a plus
  • Flexible module characterization using IV, EL, IR, DHT, TC experience is a plus

  • Masters degree or B.S. degree or a minimum of 5 years experience as an equipment engineer.
